In this hands-on and collaborative course, we’ll guide you from consultation to finished looks using both freehand and foiling techniques. You’ll learn from our expert educators through supervised, step-by-step practical sessions on Allilon mannequins.

Throughout the course, you’ll develop techniques that build your skill and confidence, removing the guesswork from the balayage process and enabling you to make the right choices to achieve adaptable and beautiful results every time.

The looks achieved will be beautifully blended, with sectioning patterns and techniques that are easily adaptable to all salon needs—whether for a first-time or virgin application, a full head, a half head, or a refresh.

These techniques can also be combined for the best results in the salon. All looks will include a variety of toning options, utilising products and ranges that are easily adaptable for any colourist.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for colour technicians of all levels, including assistants, newly qualified stylists, and experienced professionals. We will be using Davines Colour products throughout the course; however, the knowledge and techniques gained are transferable to other colour products.

Course Schedule

Day 1 - Foil Work Balayage

Introduction and brief outline of the day’s events.
Analysis: Explore the use of foiling techniques for balayage in real-world scenarios, discussing hair textures, sections, tips, and tricks while learning how to make informed decisions.
Interactive demonstrations supported by high-quality presentations and headsheets.
Practical sessions, where students create the look on Allilon mannequins in a collaborative, hands-on environment, applying the knowledge gained throughout the day.

Day 2 - Freehand Balayage

Analysis: Dive into freehand balayage techniques in real-world scenarios, covering hair textures, sections, tips, and tricks while learning how to make the right decisions.
Interactive demonstrations supported by high-quality presentations and headsheets.
Practical sessions, where students create the look on Allilon mannequins in a collaborative, hands-on environment, applying the knowledge gained throughout the day.
Certificate presentation and closing remarks.
